150,"Local garden and craft show, including other local activities."

151,"To become obsessed by year round tourism will only lead to the town loosing what most visitors come for-its atmosphere of a 'proper' place. Car parking is a huge problem and more visitors=more parking problems(and others). A balance is needed. Tourism and its knock on employment is very limited eventually it does not offer a varied range of employment for the varied range of people living here, especially the younger men. "

153,"'Sleeping Policeman' on Mill road-it's like a race track!
Burnt-out-buildings on quay an eyesore-urgent decision needed on that.
Parking outside Buttlands is diabolical as emergency vehicles couldn't get through if needed.
Traffic police on duty on quay in summer(Sat/Sun) as they used to be."

154,"RESIDENTS PARKING:
I feel sometimes that more is done for the 2 months(summer) for the holiday visitors, than for those of us who live here all the year, pay our council tax and help to keep the town we love going all the year round."

156,"-Pedestrianise the quay end of Staithe Street
-Re-site the football field-convert to a parking/market stall site
-Introduce 20MPH limits on certain roads
-Encourage new businesses eg. bakery, fruit and veg shops etc."

157,"Employ a dog warden, give more thought to the older generation - everything seems to be for the young."

158,"Stop trying to attract ever larger numbers of visitors to the town. Already in the summer and at weekends throughout the year the town and surrounding areas are over-crowded to the point where there is no pleasure in being here. As this is unlikely to happen, could we have a Park and ride scheme so that at least we are spared the excessive traffic and parking problems in the town.
Also an enforced 'dogs on leads' policy in the woods between Wells and Lady Ann's Drive would be helpful to non-dog lovers and the wild life.
Why is there no mention of the proposed fishermans processing plant? It seems to be a major controversial topic at the moment."

159,"Restrict parking in peak season along Polka Road by only allowing parkings on one side of the road.
Encourage use of premises on industrial estate Down Maryland.
Enforce Development etc. of Burnt out Amusement Arcade."

160,"Replace car parking on quay with outdoor cafe facilities
Provide opportunities for employment on industrial estate with internet warehouse etc."

161,"Stop building all these new awful looking homes
encourage walking/cycling/horseriding/horse and carriages by making roads safer-reduce speed limits and crackdown on illegal parking.
Better public transport-more frequent, commencing earlier and finishing later.
Genuine members on town council working for the town not just for themselves.
Less second homes.
Free all year round parking in all car parks for permanent residents only.
Increased council tax on second homes. "

162,"Due to the fish and chips shops, litter is a problem on the quay front.
Litter thrown around because the waste bins cannot accomodate all this rubbish.
Fish and chips shops should provide more bins at their own expense.
Burnt-down amusement arcade should be repossed back by the council to put out to tender to put to good use
as it is an eyesore in Wells on a prime spot. "

163,"Campaign to educate against littering.
Removal of eyesore burnt-out buildings at the quay"

165,"A cinema should be in the Maltings
A lollypop lady outside Wells-primary-and-nursery-school
A Macdonalds
A petrol station
More stuff to play on, on the quay playing field.
More activities in Wells to do on summer holidays, half term, Christmas holiday etc."

167,"Living on the Buttlands we feel that a one-way system might ease many problems. Something should be done about double parking on the Buttlands, especially on the west side. It is too narrow and sooner or later there will be an accident there-with no access for emergency vehicles.
The traffic warden could be a great help but couldn't be everywhere at once.
Providing car parking on the outskirts of the town could help, nowhere is too far to walk in Wells and at the moment we take our life into our own hands trying to cross Station Rd. on the quay during the holiday season. "

168,"Traffic calming on Church street/A149"

169,"A bus shelter is essential if people are to be encouraged to use the bus. Frequency of service(not mentioned above) is also an important factor.
Pedestrianisation of the quay(roadway) at least for part of the day/season with access for essential vehicles including trade and public service vehicles."

170,"Create a car park on Church Marsh with landscaping!!
Stop parking at all times for everybody between New Gates Lane."

171,"Close the Quay at weekends, public holidays and school holidays to all traffic bar commercial deliveries.
Re-locate the car park on the quay.
The quay should be a family area where children walk and play in safety. "

174,"New car park and strictly implementing the parking rules during the season."

176,"More car parking-not less
Do not close harbour quayside car park or pedestrianise the quay."

178,"Kick out all second home owners!!"

180,"Keep the car park on the quay, but create more parking.
I live on Staithe Street, sometimes I can't park for a full day on the car park there-even if I could, I take my car out 3 times a day, if I payed for a ticket I wouldn't be able to find a space in summer so I have to try to find a space on a road without yellow lines, which is hard to do because holliday makers take them up or people that have their own parking decide to park on the road sometimes, they get blocked in. "

182,"I think people who can afford to own more than one property and keep it unoccupied most of the time, should pay double rates. Why should the rest of us subsidise their rates etc? (they spoil our town).
Also I would like the allocation of the new homes to actually go to the people they are for, and would like this independantly monitored so young local couples do actually benefit. "

183,"Petrol station
Development of Gray's on the quay(not as an amusement arcade)."

184,"Shops must remove mounting goods on display outside their shops as this restricts road space for walking on and looks a real mess!
Wells is looking more and more like 'Portabella Roced' London, it's an eyesore to our lovely little town.
Wells is losing its unique personality because of this-please do something about it."

186,"It is a beautiful place with beautiful, strong, caring people who could take on any idea!"

188,"A decision needs to be made regarding the resolve of the burnt out building on the quay front. This is a persistant eyesore to one of the most beautiful sea views in Norfolk.
The proposed project will only reverse the traffic problems in Wells and spoil the all round views."

189,"Life pretty good in Wells but must do something about helping the youth and about affordable housing-maybe stopping out of town people from being given housing here."

190,"No parking at junction- East quay and Standard Road and the main road of the quay.
More car parking.
Increased council housing for locals."

191,"Ban all parking from Shrublands on Polka road to the Buttlands-this will eliminate need for a roundabout at the Station Road junction.
No closing down of toilets-upgrade existing ones to cater to the needs of residents and visitors.
Traffic calming on the quay will lead to disruption of the flow of traffic and damage to vehicle suspension-therefore don't even consider it.
Only likely effective project is the Fishermans Market. "

192,"A policeman-I am yet to see one if we have one!"

193,"Re-opening the Bakery.
Re-developing of the Grays site on the quay.
A good restaurant.
More shops.
More parking spaces."

194,"People/owners responsible for the burntout arcade must be made to sort it out-renovate and tidy up before another summer season.
Get dirty dog owners to pick up dog feaces."

196,"Enforce yellow lines outside tourist info Centre and by fish and chips shops!
Re-develop the burnt down eyesore on the sea front."

197,"Due to the great number of visitors to Wells, public toilets are a necessity. They need to be available in several places rather than in one place like at present, so that they can be reached easily. It is wrong to expect them to use toilets in pubs or the Maltings.
They need to be vandal proof with automatic handwash and flush facilities-public toilets next to Barclays Bank in Kings Lynn is a good example of this."

199,"Improve housing for locals
restrict 2nd home buyers
Increase residents parking
Increase police presence all year round"

...more............
