Funding
Wells Area Partnership Community Chest Fund 2009

The WAP Community Chest Fund was set up in 2007 to enable local community groups and organisations to access funds easily and quickly for small projects. This funding is not available each year and the amount of money can vary but we are pleased to say that we did have a funding pot of £2000 which means we could offer up to £250 per application.
This year’s funding was available to non-profit organisations that can demonstrate how they provide real benefits to the community, for example, parish and town councils, voluntary organisations, charities or community groups. Funding is available for any of these groups active in the geographical area covered by Wells Area Partnership
WAP were pleased to receive over 25 applications from local groups for the community chest fund. However simple Math’s could tell that a pot of £2000 was not going to go very far. The WAP board spent an evening looking over all the applications and discussing how the money would benefit each cause.
After much deliberation and compromising the board came to a decision and the money was shared out as follows:
Westfield Playing Field £230.00
Wells Pensioner Association £100.00
Hope and Smile £230.00
North Norfolk Triathlon Youth Team £230.00
Wells Polka Road Children’s Centre £230.00
Wells Nelson Club £150.00
Wells Primary School £230.00
Gordon Barrett Memorial Hall £200.00
Stiffkey Local History Group £230.00
Langham Village School £170.00
For the groups who were not successful in receiving a grant, WAP are happy to offer assistance and help in finding suitable funding streams, to take advantage of this please email ben@wellsareapartnership.org.uk
