Item regarding meeting between WAP, NNDC and WTC was incorrectly expressed. The meeting is being organised by NNDC and WTC will be sending Mike Gates and Gary Anthony to the meeting to represent WTC (as agreed at the Town Council meeting).

The work on the LDF was successful and the Inspector will be deciding in the Spring about the adoption of changes put forward by WAP.

  1. Youth Projects

Nula Cooper from North Norfolk Youth Service came to talk to the group about youth projects in the area.

Working with – APHS (xl club/princes trust), Walsingham, Wells Children’s Centre, EP Youth, Benjamin Foundation, Police, NEET, Holiday provision, Young Carers Group, and one off projects such as Ace Dance (3 day project resulting in a performance at Sheringham Little Theatre.

Invitation to get in touch with Nula to form partnerships particularly with reference to young parents and young carers.

It is recognised that Grandparents play a key role in childcare in this area. There are parenting classes available in Fakenham

WAP to help find grant funding.

Fi to email contact details for the Quay and Parish magazines.
WAP to help identify young people and help to get people interested.

  1. Board Update – membership to WAP

Peter Rainsford proposed that the Partnership Board becomes adopted from this meeting. This was seconded by Chris Rose. There were no objections.

  1. Parish Consultation and Involvement

The town consultation worked well and has been presented to WTC. Still to be presented to other organisations e.g. NNDC, Library

Can use a similar model to consult the parishes. Possibilities of face to face, letter drops, online survey only, using EP Youth bus. Would be favourable to consult each parish separately.

Fi to bring a proposal of how to consult the parishes to the next meeting.

  1. Round robin

Chris Rose and Fi worked on the LDF document with help form Bidwells to successfully get the document changed.
Elaine Kelly - can be contacted through the school.
Nula Cooper – Mike Tingly from the Youth Service is organising a meeting on 26th February for voluntary organisations that work with young people.
                    - The Crime Prevention Partnership have no representative from Wells, as Nula already attends, she is happy to feedback any relevant information to the group.
Pete Lynn – Will put an article in the Quay and work on getting a group together re the environment.
Peter Rainsford – health is not represented by the health forum on the WAP board as they are a provider focus group as opposed to patient focussed.
                   - Business – Bernard Phillips is standing down as the editor (our thanks to him for his support) , Sara Phillips is acting as editor. Christmas Tide was very successful and raised £2000 for Homes for Wells. There will be a presentation by Sheringham Wind Farm on the 7th of February re how to access the commercial opportunities of a wind farm
Nell Seal- from the Field Study Centre. 3 day residential environmental and geographical projects for Norfolk young people. Working with the Norfolk Coast Partnership and 24 coastal schools. Working with Wells Primary School. Opportunities for local young people to access the facilities at the centre would be good.

  1. WAP Report

A summary of Fi and Emily’s work since the last meeting

  1. AOB

Joyce – the older people who were going to be on their own for Christmas were all able to spend Christmas with somebody

There is a Stakeholders Conference in Binham on Wednesday 23rd January from 10am – 3pm. WAP has 8 places.

Emily is attending a meeting on Mon 21st January about the possibility of setting up a cinema in the Granary Theatre.

There were comments from Christmas Tide re how nice it was to use the Sackhouse car park for the market place. Could this space be used more often?
