Minutes for WAP meeting

Tuesday 18th September

7.30p.m. Wells Library

  1. Minutes for last meeting

The minutes for the last meeting were agreed by those present.

 

WAP have been invited to a Public Examination Hearing in early December regarding the LDF.

 

Fi / Emily to circulate minutes from meetings at least 1 week before next meeting.

  1. What about Wells? Community Consultation Day

 

Fi’s proposal for the Community Consultation Day:
To be held on Thursday 18th October in the Maltings from 10am – 7pm.
Zig-Zag of boards displaying questions from the survey, public given sticky dots to answer the questions and post it notes to leave more detailed comments and suggestions.
Wells Children’s Centre will also be there with activities for children upstairs.
Wells Town Council will be there and also a display of the proposed plans for the Maltings Community Centre.
Free cup of tea or coffee.

Move all the WAP consultation over to the Sackhouse and open Friday 10am – 7pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am – 4pm.

 

 

Fi to liaise with Gail Jefferson re bringing APHS students down to tie in with their citizenship day.

Fi to put an advert in the Quay, talk to Richard Parr and send press releases to local newspapers and radio stations.

Volunteers needed to be present at the event and subsequent weekend to maximise info about WAP and put faces to it.

  1. Community Wide Survey

Paper copies of the survey will be distributed through the Quay magazine (1 per household) and be available at the Library, WAP office etc.
There will also be an online version on the WAP website.
Paper copies will be available at Wells Library and from the WAP office in the Sackhouse.

It will be obligatory for participants to fill in their post code. They will only have to give their name and address if they wish to be entered in to the draw to win £100 cash.
Survey’s will be distributed with a freepost envelope to return the completed forms. Survey’s must be returned no later than 3 weeks after distribution.

WAP will know the results in December.

Peter to draft a question re the infrastructure of the town.

To be held in the Maltings on 30th October.

Meetings to now be bimonthly on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

A summary of Fi and Emily’s work since the last meeting.

Wells Christmas Tide will be on the 8th December. Sarah Wise is the Co-ordinator.
