  1. Welcome

WAP Chairman Chris Rose opened the meeting and welcomed members to the AGM

  1. Chairman’s Report

The Chairman presented the annual report which outlined the activity of Wells Area Partnership for the financial year 2007/08. The Chairman made particular reference to the hard work and commitment that Fiona MacCallum had shown to WAP over the past year and welcomed Kate Parker to the organisation. The Chairman introduced Kate Parker as the new WAP Co-odinator, Kate will be in post for the next 12 months to cover Fiona MacCallum’s period of maternity leave. He noted that Peter Lynn had kindly agreed to take over Chairing the WAP Board, after 18 November’s meeting.

  1. Financial Report and Accounts

Peter Rainsford presented the WAP annual accounts for the financial year 2007/08. The accounts were adopted by Members. Peter Rainsford reported that copies of the audited accounts would be available for members to view in detail at the WAP Office and that they would also be published on the WAP website in the near future.

  1. Questions and Answers

Sue Fielding asked if WAP could provide details of its future projects and activity. Kate Parker explained that following on from the Community Survey carried out in early 2008, WAP had identified two priority areas to focus projects on. These were to increase the amount of affordable housing for local people and to increase provision of youth facilities and services across the area. Kate reported that over the next 12 months WAP intended to try and help roll out the successful model of Homes for Wells throughout the Burnhams and that she was currently working with NNDC, the Safer Neighbourhood Team and the Youth Service to try and secure funding for youth projects in both Wells and Walsingham.

A review of the District Council owned assets in Wells and other opportunities for the town is currently being carried out by Blue Fish Regeneration, working to the North Norfolk Community Partnership. Concerns were raised by Ray Hewitt, about the nature of the consultations involved to date. These concerns were acknowledged by WAP Members and Kate Parker agreed to pass on contact details for the project lead officer at NNDC to enable further clarification to be sought but in so far as they related to communications within Wells Town Council, this was not the remit of WAP.

Sara Phillips asked for more regular updates on WAP activity for publication in the Quay. Members agreed that WAP needed to increase its PR and marketing to ensure that everyone in the area was aware of its role and the benefits it offered to the community. Kate Parker agreed to contact Sara outside of the AGM to discuss this further.

  1. Any Other Business

There was no other business raised

  1. Date of Next AGM and Close of Meeting

The date of the next meeting was set for Tuesday 19th October 2009. The Chairman thanked everybody for attending the meeting and invited people to join WAP either as Trustees, Board Members or general members.

The meeting was closed at 8.25pm
